As a leader in the pharmaceutical industry, Medvantx prioritizes the importance of patient safety through innovative technology.

Our commitment to this critical component of healthcare is reflected in our investment in advanced safety software and platforms that help us provide the highest standards of pharmaceutical practice. In recognition of World Patient Safety Day, and this year’s theme: “Engaging patients for patient safety,” we are proud to highlight our efforts toward achieving national patient safety goals. Our focus on patient identification accuracy, medication safety, and infection prevention via medication access, ensures that we deliver safe and effective pharmacy services to our clients and patients.

Patient Identification Accuracy

The first national patient safety goal is patient identification accuracy. At Medvantx, we utilize our INSIGHTS ENGAGE platform to enhance safety and reduce medication errors by increasing patient access to their personal medication records. With this software, we can ensure that the right medication is prescribed to the correct patient by confirming their identity. Also, our INSIGHTS CONNECT platform leverages industry-standard API-based integration, for various technology platforms, that provide HIPAA compliant data sharing for pharmacies, ensuring that personal information is kept safe and secure. Medvantx INSIGHTS ANALYTICS platform allows users to integrate and normalize data from a variety of sources, including clinical, operational, compliance, and key financial information. By using advanced algorithms, the software generates clinical patient access data, creating significant trends that can help identify potential medication errors and areas of improvement.

Medication Safety

The second national patient safety goal is medication safety. Medvantx MTM focuses on identifying and preventing medication-related problems, increasing medication safety through reconciliation, and review. With our advanced safety software, we can monitor and manage medication safety more effectively, providing an added layer of protection for our clients and patients. This software ensures that we follow the highest standards of pharmaceutical practice and reduces the risk of medication errors.

Infection Prevention

The third national patient safety goal is Infection Prevention. In the current climate, this goal is more critical than ever as infectious diseases continue to pose a threat. Through Medvantx CashPay and Patient Assistance Programs, patients who normally may not be able to afford medications for their infection, can obtain their necessary medication at a low cost, without even leaving their homes. This aspect of Infection Prevention, as it relates medication access, is essential in ensuring that our patients remain safe, and are able to address their illnesses without the potential threat of infecting others.

Product Replacement

Lastly, to support patient safety measures, Medvantx will urgently replace a drug or medical device if defective, malfunctioning or was damaged in transit. Our processes and procedures allow for patients medications to be quickly replaced so they can continue medication therapy with minimal impact on their overall journey. By doing so, patients can also reduce trips to the pharmacy.  Replacement and authorization will also not impact the patient’s recurring prescription refills.

“THROUGH OUR EXPANSIVE PHARMACY EXPERIENCE, WE UNDERSTAND THAT THINGS HAPPEN. FROM INJECTOR MISFIRES TO BROKEN VIALS, OR CRUSHED PILLS, THESE SITUATIONS ARE OUT OF A PATIENT’S CONTROL. ENSURING PATIENTS INEVITABLY RECEIVE THE USABLE, SAFE MEDICATIONS THAT THEY’RE ENTITLED TO, IS IN OUR CONTROL.”
-Michaela Bunde, Pharmacist in Charge-Louisville, KY.

At Medvantx, we recognize that patient safety is a critical part of healthcare. Our advanced software platforms and medication safety measures reflect our commitment to achieving national patient safety goals and protecting our clients and patients. On World Patient Safety Day, we reaffirm our commitment to patient safety and continue to invest in innovative solutions to deliver the highest standards of pharmaceutical practice and services.
